Task Client Portal settings

All team members with access to the task can configure Client Portal settings, provided the Client Portal feature is enabled for the company account.

When the Client Portal is enabled for your account, each task can be shared with the client’s portal contacts.

Click the Client Portal button in the task sidebar. This activates the portal panel where you can configure how the task appears to your client.

Select which Client Portal contacts can see and interact with the task. In workflow templates, this defaults to the client’s primary contact.

Check Assign as task to send the task to the client as an actionable item in their portal (not just a read-only reference). When this is checked, two additional options become available:

  • Auto finish — when enabled, the task is automatically marked as done in Uku after the client completes it in their portal. Requires at least one portal assignee. Useful for tasks where the client’s completion is the final step (for example, signing a document or confirming information).
  • Due date offset — sets how far in advance of the task’s internal due date the client sees their deadline. Options range from “On task due date” to up to 7 days before. This gives clients earlier visibility so they can act in time. The offset is automatically capped so the client’s due date never falls before the task’s start date.

Click the X button on the portal header to remove Client Portal settings from the task. This clears portal assignees and disables portal visibility for this task.

Client Portal must be enabled for your company account. Ask a Company Admin to check Settings & Apps > Client Portal.

Auto finish is not working after client completes the task

Verify that at least one portal assignee is set on the task. Auto finish requires at least one portal assignee to function. Also confirm that Assign as task is checked in the portal panel.

Client’s due date offset is different from what I set

The offset is capped so the client’s due date never falls before the task’s start date. If the offset you chose would place the client’s date before the start date, Uku adjusts it automatically.
