BI Analytics — Filters, bookmarks, and custom views
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Available on the Elite plan, currently in beta with selective customer access. If you do not see BI Analytics in the navigation, contact support to enable it for your account.
State layers
Section titled “State layers”Filters — persist across reports
Section titled “Filters — persist across reports”| Filter | Saved across reports? | Saved in bookmark? |
|---|---|---|
| Date period | Yes | Yes |
| Client | Yes | Yes |
| Member | Yes | Yes |
| Topic | Yes | Yes |
| Product | Yes | Yes |
| Compare mode (YoY / Adjacent) | Yes | Yes |
| Currency | Yes | Yes |
Filters live in the URL. Switching report tabs inside a category — or switching to a different category — keeps your filters.
Display parameters — reset on report switch
Section titled “Display parameters — reset on report switch”| Parameter | Reset on report switch? | Saved in bookmark? |
|---|---|---|
| Hierarchy (perspective dropdown) | Yes | Yes |
| Visible KPIs | Yes | Yes |
| Visible columns | Yes | Yes |
| Visible charts | Yes | Yes |
| Series toggles (period chart legend) | Yes | Yes |
Switching reports calls a hard reset on display parameters — the next report opens with its preset, not your previous customization. This keeps system reports behaving as named.
Bookmarks — saved view = filters + display params
Section titled “Bookmarks — saved view = filters + display params”A bookmark stores the full URL including all filters and display params. Loading a bookmark navigates to the saved URL exactly.
Bookmark types:
- System report — built into the product (e.g. “Production Overview”). You cannot edit a system report; changing any display parameter detaches it into a custom view.
- Custom bookmark — your saved view (or a teammate’s). Appears under “My Reports” in the sidebar.
When does a system report become a custom view?
Section titled “When does a system report become a custom view?”A system report detaches into a custom view the moment you change any display parameter:
- Switch the perspective dropdown
- Change visible columns
- Change visible KPIs
- Change visible charts
- Toggle a series in the period chart legend
The top bar swaps from showing the report’s category tabs to showing the bookmark dropdown with the value “Custom”.
Filters do not detach a system report. You can change date and entity filters freely; the report stays a system report. Only display-parameter changes detach.
How to save a bookmark
Section titled “How to save a bookmark”- Customize the view (filters + display params)
- Click the bookmark dropdown in the top bar (shows “Custom”)
- Click Save bookmark
- Give it a name; pick visibility (you-only or company-shared)
- The new bookmark appears under “My Reports” in the sidebar
How to update a bookmark
Section titled “How to update a bookmark”- Load the bookmark
- Change anything — the bookmark name shows a “modified” hint
- Click Update bookmark to overwrite, or Save as new to keep both
How to share a bookmark
Section titled “How to share a bookmark”When saving or editing a bookmark, set visibility to Shared. Shared bookmarks appear in every Company Member’s “My Reports” list.
Note: bookmarks store filters and display params, but the data scope depends on the viewer’s role. A Company Member sees only their assigned clients; a Company Owner sees everything. Same URL, different result set.
Embedded views — different rules
Section titled “Embedded views — different rules”Embedded BI views (client Analytics tab, member Profile Performance tab) have no URL sync — they always use the report’s preset, locked to the parent entity. You cannot bookmark an embedded view; switch to the standalone report if you want a custom configuration.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”My report changed from “Production Overview” to “Custom”
Section titled “My report changed from “Production Overview” to “Custom””You changed a display parameter. Filters do not detach. To return to the system report, click the bookmark dropdown and pick the system report name.
I switched report and lost my custom columns
Section titled “I switched report and lost my custom columns”Display parameters reset on report switch. Save the customized view as a bookmark first, then switch.
I bookmarked a chip-filtered view — why doesn’t it remember the chip?
Section titled “I bookmarked a chip-filtered view — why doesn’t it remember the chip?”Health-chip filters are client-side and not stored in the URL. Bookmarking does not capture them. Use a real entity or date filter if you need persistence.
How do I make my custom view the default?
Section titled “How do I make my custom view the default?”After saving the bookmark, mark it as default. Next time you open that category, your bookmark loads instead of the system report.
