BI Analytics — Embedded views in client and member pages
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Available on the Elite plan, currently in beta with selective customer access. Company Owners and Company Admins see all data. Company Members see data for their assigned clients and their own profile.
The four embedded views
Section titled “The four embedded views”| View | Where to find it | Default period | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Client Production** | Client page > Analytics tab > Production | Last 12 months | Account review, renewal prep |
| **Client Revenue** | Client page > Analytics tab > Revenue | Last 12 months | Revenue and billing health for one client |
| **Member Production** | Profile > Performance tab > Production | Last month | 1:1 prep, performance review |
| **Member Revenue** | Profile > Performance tab > Revenue | Last month | Yield and billing review for one person |
How embedded views differ from standalone reports
Section titled “How embedded views differ from standalone reports”- Locked to the entity — the filter bar is hidden; the view is always for this client or this member only
- No URL state / no bookmarks — embedded views do not sync to the URL and cannot be bookmarked. For a saved custom configuration, use the standalone report with an entity filter.
- Different KPI selection — the embedded views show KPIs most relevant to the single-entity context (e.g. Client Production shows labor multiplier instead of hours vs target)
- Gauge behavior — the Hours-vs-target gauge is hidden on the client-locked views (tracking/agreed makes no sense at single-client scope) but kept on the member-locked views (a meaningful “did this person log their contracted hours”)
Client Analytics tab (Production + Revenue)
Section titled “Client Analytics tab (Production + Revenue)”Where: Client page > Analytics tab. Toggle between Production and Revenue sub-tabs.
Client Production KPIs: Production value, Production profit, Labor multiplier (production / labor cost — return on people for this client), On-time rate.
Client Revenue KPIs: Revenue, Operating profit, Realization %, Billing gap.
Typical use cases
Section titled “Typical use cases”- Account review: Client > Analytics > Production. Period chart shows trajectory. Health chips highlight known issues. Drill into top members and topics.
- Pre-renewal: Client > Analytics. Both tabs — production for delivery story, revenue for billing story. Note rate increase opportunities.
- Internal handover: New account manager opens client > Analytics for the full picture in one screen.
Profile Performance tab (Production + Revenue)
Section titled “Profile Performance tab (Production + Revenue)”Where: Team member’s profile > Performance tab. Toggle between Production and Revenue sub-tabs.
Member Production KPIs: Production value, Production profit, Actual profit, Time entry compliance. Member Revenue KPIs: Revenue, Effective yield, Realization %, Write-on/off.
Default period is last month — last month is closed and complete, making it the most actionable window for 1:1s and performance conversations.
Typical use cases
Section titled “Typical use cases”- 1:1 prep (manager): Open the team member’s profile > Performance. Default = last month. Read production value, utilization gauge, time entry compliance before the conversation.
- Self-review (member): Your own profile > Performance. Topic share shows where your hours actually went. Use as input for your own retrospective.
- Annual performance review: Change period to last 12 months. Period overview chart shows the full year; topic breakdown shows skill exposure.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Can I change the period on embedded views?
Section titled “Can I change the period on embedded views?”Yes — the date picker is available on every embedded view. Only the filter (the entity lock) is fixed.
Why is the Hours-vs-target gauge absent on client embedded views?
Section titled “Why is the Hours-vs-target gauge absent on client embedded views?”Tracked/agreed loses meaning when scoped to one client — a member’s contracted hours cover all their clients, not just one. Consistent with how the standalone Production Overview behaves when filtered to a single client.
Why does the member view default to last month rather than last 12 months?
Section titled “Why does the member view default to last month rather than last 12 months?”Last month is closed and complete. This week is incomplete, and last 12 months is often too long for a 1:1 conversation. Last month is the sweet spot for performance discussions.
How do I save a custom view for a specific client?
Section titled “How do I save a custom view for a specific client?”Use the standalone Production Overview with a client filter, then save as a bookmark. Embedded views do not support bookmarks.
