Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”- Company Admin or Company Owner role can view and change most settings.
- Settings marked Owner rights can only be changed by the Company Owner.
- If the Company Owner has enabled Disable company settings edit for all members, only the Company Owner can change any settings.
Accessing company settings
Section titled “Accessing company settings”- Click Settings & Apps in the left sidebar.
- Find the Company card and click it.
- Select the Settings tab.
Settings are organized into four sections: Tasks, Clients, Owner rights, and Calendar. Each setting is a simple on/off toggle. Changes take effect after you click Save at the bottom of the page.
Task settings
Section titled “Task settings”These toggles control how your team works with tasks, time tracking, and related features.
- Disable built-in task templates — members cannot use the built-in task templates.
- Set the estimation as time when the exact value is not entered — if a member marks a task done without logging time, Uku auto-fills from the task estimation.
- Checklist must be completed to finish the task — a task cannot be marked done until every checklist item is checked off.
- Disable topic management for members — only Company Admins and Company Owners can create, edit, or delete topics.
- Disable time edit for members — only Company Admins and Company Owners can modify time entries after saving.
- Allow time entries in future — members can log time for dates that have not happened yet.
- Show all dependent tasks in the calendar — dependent tasks appear on the calendar view (not just the parent task).
- Show only personal time entries for members — Company Members can only see their own time entries, not those of other members.
- Allow members to destroy tasks — Company Members can permanently delete tasks.
Client settings
Section titled “Client settings”- Disable adding new clients for members — only Company Admins and Company Owners can create new client records.
- Only administrators can edit documents — Company Members can view documents but cannot create, edit, or delete them.
- Allow digitisation of client documents — enables document digitisation and automatic content extraction.
Owner rights
Section titled “Owner rights”These two toggles are restricted to the Company Owner only. Company Admins cannot change them even with full access to all other settings.
- Disable company settings edit for all members — only the Company Owner can modify company settings. All other members, including Company Admins, see settings in a read-only state.
- Disable personal clients for members — Company Members cannot create or maintain personal client records.
Calendar settings
Section titled “Calendar settings”- Show member birthdays — team member birthdays appear as events on the calendar.
- Show contact birthdays — client contact birthdays appear as events on the calendar.
Lock time entries
Section titled “Lock time entries”The time entry lock prevents anyone from editing or adding time entries for periods that have already been locked. Choose between two lock schedules:
- Weekly @ Sun 23:59 — time entries are locked at the end of each Sunday.
- Monthly @ last day of month — time entries are locked at the end of each month.
This setting is especially useful for companies that need clean, auditable time records for billing or payroll. Once a period is locked, the data is final — choose the schedule that matches your billing cycle.
